Tractors
SML's all-conventional company fleet is comprised
of Freightliner Columbia and Peterbilt 387
tractors. The average age of our company tractors is a mere two years! All units
are equipped with Caterpiller C-12 and C-15 engines which are computer-controlled,
giving us complete access to statistical information such as fuel mileage, time
spent at idle, and time and speeds driven. In addition, our tractors are equipped
with the following:
- Nine speed transmission with top two
- Air release 5th wheels and trailer tandems
- Sirius Satellite Radio in new equipment
- Air-ride cab with Air-ride seats
- Aluminum wheels
- Power mirrors
- Heated mirrors
- Cruise control
- Large double bunk sleepers

Thermo King TriPac APU
|
SML tractors are equipped with Thermo King's TriPac Auxiliary Heating/Cooling
Temperature Management System, which allows drivers to reduce unnecessary truck
engine idling, conserve diesel fuel and save money. The TriPac unit preheats
the truck's engine, charges the battery, and provides truck cab sleeper compartment
climate control and electric power.

Trailers
SML's trailer fleet includes 1300 Lufkin and Great Dane 53' x 102" dry
vans. All trailers have 110" door height and floor widths of 96½" or
97¾". All trailers have vertical logistic Etrack posts, Air-ride,
automatic tire inflation, and are vented.
