Richard Sitton, President & CEO

After serving five years in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Sitton returned home and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Missouri Southern State University. After graduation came a regional sales position with Federated Mutual Insurance Company.

In 1979, Mr. Sitton joined his father and brother in the formation of Sitton Motor Lines. In 1993 his father retired and Mr. Sitton was named President. The following year, after his father's untimely death, he assumed the additional responsibilities of CEO and Chairman.

Mr. Sitton is active in a number of community and industry associations and boards. He is actively serving on the boards of the Missouri Motor Carriers Association, the American Trucking Association, Truckload Carriers Association, and Arvest Bank. He is a past President of the Joplin Rotary Club, past Chairman of the Missouri Motor Carriers Association, a past Director of Freeman Hospital (Joplin), and a past Director of the Joplin Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Sitton is supported by his wife, Lana, and their three sons, Chad (Chief Branch Officer), Brian (Chief Operating Officer), and Brad (Creative Media Director for Passion Conferences). The Sittons have been blessed with eleven grandchildren.

Brian Sitton, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Sitton was named Chief Operating Officer in December 2006 after serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing after rejoining the company in March of 2005. From June of 1999 until that time, He was employed by Manhattan Associates, assisting in the design and development of decision support software for the logistics and transportation industry. He originally joined the organization in 1994 and served in several capacities.

He graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Management.

Mr. Sitton, his wife, Paige, and their children reside in Joplin, Missouri.

Jeff Thurman, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Thurman was named Chief Financial Officer in December 2006 after holding the position of Executive Vice President since December 1988. He has held a variety of other positions since joining the company in 1986.

Mr. Thurman is a native of the Joplin area and has been active on a number of boards within the community including the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Science from Missouri Southern State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Southwest Missouri State University.

Chad Sitton, Chief Branch Officer

Mr. Sitton was named Chief Branch Officer in December 2006 after serving as Branch Manager of SML's Durant, Oklahoma, facility. He is responsible for all Sitton properties outside the corporate office. He has also held positions in Safety and Maintenance; and before taking over the terminal in Durant, he served for three years as Director of Operations at the Joplin headquarters.

In 1996, Mr. Sitton rejoined the family business after serving five years in the U.S. Navy (Desert Storm).

Mr. Sitton is supported by his wife, Katie, and two children, Dakota and Lauryn. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Durant Chamber of Commerce, is a member of the Oklahoma Trucking Association, Transportation Committee BCD, Kiwanis, and the First Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma.

Stan Edens, Vice-President, Maintenance

Mr. Edens brought 12 years of transportation experience with him when he joined the SML team in March 1981. He has served as a driver (both owner-operator and local) mechanic, and Director of Maintenance.

He is responsible for Sitton's maintenance department, buildings, and grounds. He also specs and purchases SML's top-quality equipment.

Mr. Edens is a member of the Joplin Diplomats, a past member of the Board of Directors of Sitton Motor Lines, a past member of the Board of Directors of his church, and a past member of the Advisory Board of Agriculture and Diesel Mechanics at Crowder College.

Dave Allgood, Vice-President, Risk Management

Mr. Allgood began his career with SML in March, 1992. His scope of responsibility includes safety, Human Resources, DOT, claim management, OSHA, and EPA compliance, recruiting, training and development, and employee benefits.

Mr. Allgood holds an Associate of Arts degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, Oklahoma (1976) and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Oklahoma (1978). He has completed the CIGNA School of Insurance (1981) and is a licensed Multi-Line Adjuster.

A native and resident of Miami, Oklahoma, Mr. Allgood has over ten years of transportation experience in addition to his tenure at SML.

He is a member of the Missouri Council of Safety Professionals, the Joplin Diplomats, and the American Trucking Association. He is past Chairman of the Missouri Motor Carriers Association Truck Driving Championships, and was named the Missouri Motor Carriers Safety Professional of the Year for 2002.

Mr. Allgood is a member and elder of the First Christian Church of Miami, Oklahoma. He and his wife, Brenda, have two children.
